With over 23 years of unwavering dedication to the field of education, I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the realm of literacy. My diverse journey through the world of education has afforded me a multifaceted perspective that enriches my ability to support educators, students, and families.

 

I began my career as a high school English teacher in Washington Heights, NY. This foundational experience allowed me to intimately understand the classroom dynamics and the unique needs of students. As a literacy coach, I honed my skills in designing effective literacy programs and strategies that truly make a difference in students' lives.

 

My journey in education extended into leadership roles, where I served as a school and district administrator. In these pivotal positions, I oversaw the development and implementation of educational initiatives, ensuring that every student had access to high-quality literacy education. 

 

Furthermore, my educational journey culminated in the achievement of a PhD in Teaching and Learning with a specialized focus on disciplinary literacy. This advanced degree has deepened my understanding of how literacy skills intersect with various academic disciplines, enabling me to develop cutting-edge strategies that promote literacy across the content-areas.
